Endometriosis Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine in Santa Monica

Endometriosis is not just “bad cramps.” It’s an inflammatory condition that affects your cycle, energy, fertility and quality of life.

At Luna Body and Mind we offer a 12 week Endometriosis Relief Protocol to address the deeper patterns behind recurring pain and not just chase symptoms month to month.

Endometriosis is not just “bad cramps.” It is a chronic, inflammatory, hormone-responsive condition where uterine lining tissue grows outside of uterus. It can affect the ovaries, fallopian tubes, pelvic lining, bowels, bladder and other tissues. Over time this growth can create inflammation, adhesions, scar tissue, ovarian cysts. The symptons include pelvic pain, digestive discomfort, painful periods, pain with intercourse and fertility problems.

Many women take pain killers and hormones to suppress their cycles. Surgery is the last resort but the recurrence rate after surgery is significant. Many women deal with pain, flares, fatigue and the same frustration month after month.

At Luna Body and Mind in Santa Monica, I treat endometriosis as a complex, whole-body condition. My approach uses acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, electro-acupuncture and moxibustion when appropriate. I address the underlying pattern of pelvic blood stasis, inflammation, poor circulation and hormonal imbalance.

The Luna Endometriosis Relief Protocol

Endometriosis is not a condition that can be fixed in one treatment. I do not offer single “try it and see” acupuncture sessions for this condition. The Luna Endometriosis Relief Protocol is a 12 week Chinese medicine program is designed to work through multiple cycles. The goal is not to just relieve cramps (this can be done in a single session) but to provide long term relief. The combination of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine allows us to keep working on the pattern every day. I use high quality potent herbal concentrates made in USA customized for each patient.

Each woman starts with a consultation to determine her particular pattern where I ask questions such as: Where is the pain? When does it start? Is it sharp, dull, stabbing, burning, heavy or cramping? Are there clots and how big are they? Is the blood dark, bright red or light? Is there bloating, diarrhea or constipation that accompanies the pain? Is the pain better with heat? Is there nausea, pain with sex or fatigue after the period? Do you catch colds right before or after periods?

Women with the same diagnosis of endometriosis might need completely different treatment strategies. One may have a cold-and-stasis pattern with cramping that gets better with heat and dark clots. Another may have more heat and inflammation with intense flares, irritability, heavy bleeding and burning pain. Another may have what we call a damp/phlegm pattern with cysts, bloating, fatigue and sluggish digestion. And yet another may be depleted from years of pain, poor sleep and blood loss.

That’s why I don’t treat endometriosis with a generic approach, the treatment needs to match the pattern.

This protocol is for you if:

You have been diagnosed or suspect endometriosis.

Have recurring or constant pain that affects your work, sleep, mood relationships, digestion or quality of life.

Tired of relying on Advil, hormones or waiting for the next flare.

Have had surgery but still experience symptoms.

Considering surgery but not sure if you want to proceed.

Ready to take endometriosis seriously and want a structured plan.

What to expect

During consultation, I will review your history, pain pattern, menstrual cycle, bleeding, clots, digestion and fertility goals and discuss what you are hoping to change. If I believe you are a good fit for the protocol, I will recommend a treatment plan.
